Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit for electrical work?

Almost all electrical work requires a permit from the Electrical Safety Authority and must comply with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.

Why do my lights keep flickering?

A single flickering bulb can usually be fixed by ensuring that it’s properly installed in the light socket. If all the lights in an area are flickering, you may have an overloaded circuit or outdated wiring. Flickering that occurs throughout the building could be caused by issues with the cable connections to a larger power source. If one area or more has flickering lights, consult a licensed electrical contractor or have an inspection performed.
