A completely reconfigured kitchen
The old kitchen was small and out-dated. It needed a renovation that would give it a grand appearance and create a continuity with the adjacent rooms. In order to achieve the desired effect, a wall was removed and the kitchen was completely reconfigured. The homeowners wanted something in light tones and an open fell. This is why the colour white was favored for polyester cabinets, quartz countertops and backsplashes. Brass handles and hardwood flooring add warmth to the decor. To achieve a high-end kitchen and maximize storage, the cabinets have been designed to go all the way to the ceiling.
A superb dining room has been furnished with custom furniture that matches perfectly with the style of the house that was built in 1930. The gray upholstered bench, the pretty marble table and the pale brown leather chairs mixed with the black metal contribute to the warm and bright space.
The renovation required demolition work to remove the old kitchen, ceramic floor and load-bearing wall between the kitchen and the living room, which was replaced by a support beam. A door opening and windows were also condemned to make way for a patio door in the living room and a new window in the kitchen. Plumbing and electrical installations have been reconfigured according to the new layout. The flooring on the ground floor has been sanded and varnished in addition to being extended into the kitchen. Custom-made cabinetry was installed and all the necessary finishing was also done (including plastering, jointing and painting).
The homeowners continue to appreciate how easy and enjoyable life is since they have a well-designed kitchen aligned with their tastes.
