Colourful meets contemporary

The Houle family’s main bathroom desperately needed a remodel. They had a decent amount of floor space, and a list of fabulous ideas for it, but needed a bit more help. So, they decided to call RenoAssistance for guidance on their bathroom renovation.

The main goal was to remove the corner bath and install a freestanding tub and a walk-in shower. Of course, a key part of the project was upgrading the aesthetic – the Houles wanted a bright contemporary bathroom. To make this vision a reality, the Verified Contractors started with the partial demolition and then built the rest from the ground up!

Before renovation

Before the bathroom renovation, this space was lacklustre. A dark stone podium bath straight out of the ’90s was tucked in the back corner, and the tiny frosted glass shower and totem decorations weren’t doing the room any favours. The fixtures were also placed awkwardly, making the space feel smaller than it was. Thankfully, our Verified Contractors were here to respond to the client’s needs!

By the end of this project, the Houles had a gorgeous bathroom with well-placed pops of colour. There’s lots of storage in the vanity and an added nook for the washer and dryer, as well. It’s safe to say that this renovation embraced form and function.

Adding depth and texture

Two-toned cabinetry is a great way to incorporate depth and texture into a fairly basic room. What’s charming about this bathroom renovation is the use of this yellow, black, white, and grey tile design. It can be seen behind the mirror and in both the shower and bath alcoves. Don’t be afraid to play with colourful accents; they add some personality without being too extra! This client’s choice truly steps out of the norm, but being bold can only elevate the outcome of your renovation.

5-star shower

The biggest addition to this bathroom was the spacious Italian shower. Luxurious taupe tiles, a patterned alcove, a black showerhead… you’d think you were in a 5-star hotel room! One of the plus sides of Italian showers like this one is that they’re easy to clean since they don’t have a glass door. And of course large tiles with thin grout lines means effortless scrubbing. Who wouldn’t want that? Chic, modern, and lavish, this family’s main bathroom renovation was a success!
