Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to remove mold on your own?

If the affected area is small (less than 1m2 per section) and the mold isn’t black or attached to porous surfaces, it’s possible to remove it by yourself following a specialized procedure. However, if you’re uncertain, it’s best to seek an expert’s advice so that you don’t put your and your family’s health at risk.

How do you know if you have a moisture problem in the basement?

By touch, appearance and smell. Smelling a damp odour when going down to the basement or seeing areas affected by water are often signs that the relative humidity level is too high. This is not something to be taken lightly, as it can cause considerable damage to your home and your health.

How do I detect the presence of asbestos?

It’s difficult, if not impossible, to detect asbestos-containing materials with the naked eye. Legislation provides for up to 9 tests of the same material in several places to ensure that asbestos is not present. It’s often a renovation project involving the modification or demolition of existing parts of a house that reveals the presence of asbestos.
