Outstanding transformation!

There’s a time and a place for wood features, and this 1943 duplex seemed to miss the memo. It was reminiscent of a bygone era. Every room had maple floors and, when you got to the kitchen, you still weren’t safe: oak cabinetry was there to surprise you. Dull and dated, this space needed multiple renovations.

Who else are you going to call when you have a duplex renovation project to complete? RenoAssistance, of course! Our Verified Contractors did such a great job transforming this property that you won’t even recognize the place!

Before renovation

Before the duplex renovation, this rental home felt cramped and uninviting. The colour palettes weren’t representative of the modern style the property owners hoped for, and the kitchen lacked intuitive organization. It was also too small to comfortably host friends and family! And then there was the bathroom: a small cramped space decked out in faux marble tiles.

Everything from the dark hallways to the faulty light switches had to go. But, thankfully, this space was full of potential. The contractors got right to work – they demolished the existing components and tore down a non-load-bearing wall. These changes freed up a ton of space and made this impressive glow up possible. Once the electrical and outlets were rewired, it was time to get the hard part of this duplex renovation done.

Simple yet modern

The original bathroom was completely redesigned with a fresh new style in mind. The contractors added brand-new pot lights to brighten up the room, a sleek tub shower with subway tiles to save space, and lastly a vanity with an integrated sink that fits perfectly in the corner. Although very simple, this bathroom is now functional and much more appealing with its modern look!

New pot lights were also installed in the living room, along with gorgeous cool-toned greige hardwood floors to elevate the design. The contractors also restored an old skylight in the room. Now, the space is flooded with natural light during the day!

A tenant’s dream!

The star of this duplex renovation project was the surprisingly large kitchen. The client wanted to remove the non-load-bearing wall to create an open layout and then spruce up the place with more modern colours and design choices. In terms of decor, they went with lovely sleek taupe cabinets, black quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and modern lighting.

They also changed the layout from L-shaped to galley to maximize storage and counter space. Lastly, the contractors added a nook in the closet for an in-unit washer and dryer. It’s safe to say that tenants won’t be able to resist the features of this newly renovated duplex!
