Galilee Evangelical Church | Elevator installation

A new elevator worth our praise

The goal of this renovation project was to install a two-floor elevator in order for second floor to be easily accessible to everyone, including the elderly and those with disabilities. The lift was strategically installed so that those outside – as well as inside the building’s garage – can easily have access to it. The chosen elevator model is ideal for a place of worship, as it is made for limited elevation and usage. Our experts tailored the equipment to the space – turning it into an almost custom-made project. This way the clients can take advantage of the elevator according to their needs.

The contractors had to dig a 5-foot deep trench in order to install the elevator’s pumping station. They also added a door in the basement in order to access the equipment. The stairs leading to the basement’s emergency exit also needed to be updated according to standards. The Verified general Contractor had to essentially demolish the old staircase and build a new fire-resistant one. Keeping in line with fire safety, he even installed a door leading to additional sprinklers. He then ensured the building’s electrical system was in good shape, added some divisions in the basement, poured concrete in front of the elevator, built the structure for the rails, did some carpentry work and much more.

The entirety of the project followed recommendations given by an architect – who then provided a certificate of standards compliance when the work was done.
